This is the first time Grisham has written a collection of legal
short-stories.
And, this is the second time Grisham has come out with two titles in one year( the first time being A Painted House and Skipping Christmas in 2001).
Grisham has set the background of all the stories in Ford County in Mississippi as a reminiscent of his first novel,A Time to Kill(which also took
place in Mississippi).
The stories sound interesting.A family takes a trip to meet the youngest, who
is in prison. Does that make the family safe?
A lawyer gets a once-in-a-lifetime offer and decides to grab it risking his
life and his family.
A collector from an insurance company decides to take revenge legally on a
casino owner.
Three boys begin a journey which ends abruptly in a club threatening their lives.
There are other stories as well. Grisham has attempted a short-story style this time. To be frank, this title does seem to be in his better-books list,
where the plot is a legal thriller. All the stories here seem to have a twist not necessarily at the end.
